Koshimizu Moritoshi started swordmaking from Taisho era. He was the fourth generation Moritoshi and worked in Hiroshima. His artname was Soryushi. Usually, he made sword in Bizen style. This sword has a tight itame hada and well polished. Deep impressed Suguha hamon reminds the placid sea surface. Good rainfall silver habaki and shirasaya mounted.
Moritoshi established the Itsukushima Tanto Dojo in 1940. He made a dedication sword for Italy Foreign Minister in 1941 (Kawashima Tadayoshi made one for Germany Minister and Kobayashi Munemitsu made another for Japan Foreign Minister (Mr. Matsuoka) at the same time). He is also rated as the National Swordsmith according 1941 Exhibition. Moritoshi died as the age of 39 so his sword is very rare and only small number of blades are found.
